Subject: The Belief in Reality is at the core of the Altairian Religious Order and the search for its measure is the reason for the existance of the Order.
While Reality is at the core of the ARO, we have learned by studying history that what many believe to be real, changes as we gather more knowledge. Most religions fight this gain in knowledge as it tends to force them to defend their dogma when it collides with new discoveries. The ARO takes a much different approach to its tenets. First we need to review the four main tenets of the order as they are listed below:
----- 1) Reality exists. (Reality is defined as the true nature of the universe.)
----- 2) Reality defines everything that happens in the universe. The better we understand Reality, its interrelationships and sub truths, the better we can understand why and how things happen. (the main effort of the order is to jointly work together to improve our understanding of Reality.)
----- 3) Decisions in life should be based upon Reality when it is known and on a Quasi-reality subset when reality is not known. (A Quasi-reality subset is a statement of currently unproven reality that is based upon known predetermined reality subsets and / or decision reality subsets.)
----- 4) The purpose of the Order is to determine reality or Quasi-reality subsets and document them for review by other members of the order. Being intelligent, thinking beings, the members of the order will use this information to inhance their lives and the lives of those close to them.
